IDLEWILD SOUTH
Idlewild South is an Atlanta based blog covering style, music, design, food and drink and other aspects of culture in the Southeast and beyond. With a strong belief that all creative effort, by nature, should be authentic, crafted with passion, and reflective of one's heritage and true character. From craft cocktails and farm-to-table cuisine to artisan goods and handcrafted wears, Idlewild South champions a way of life that is honest and full of heart. As a born and bred Atlantan, Idlewild South blogger Mary Elizabeth Kidd finds this way of life to be particularly Southern in nature...
Authentic [ au·then·tic . adjective . \ə-ˈthen-tik, ȯ-\ ] - True to one's own personality, spirit, or character.
"Style is knowing who you are, what to say and not giving a damn."
- Gore Vidal
I'm a 20-something Atlanta publicist, born and raised in the South, passionate about arts and culture. A lifelong musician (piano and harp), I have a tremendous love of music. I'm a lover of old things and am always seeking out great vintage finds and well-loved artifacts for the home. I'm inspired by creators, thinkers, doers and generous personalities. I believe that you bloom where you're planted and have an undying sense of wanderlust. My goal with Idlewild South is to explore a life of creativity, originality and authenticity.
