The second year of Atlanta's Shaky Knees Fest certainly did not disappoint, in fact, it remains my favorite musical happening in this fair city. Rain aside (it wouldn't be Shaky without a lil sprinkle), the lineup, the layout at Atlantic Station and the people could not have been better for Shaky 2014. By the end of the weekend I felt a wave of sadness set in that the rock and roll had to end…not that there's not a summer and fall full of great shows ahead at Atlanta's many amazing venues, but there's just something about three days full of alt-country/indie rock/Americana/etc. goodness that reminds you that Atlanta does, in fact, rock.
Some of my favorite shows were Jason Isbell, the National, Foals, Dawes, Lord Huron, the Hold Steady and…ok so now I'm just naming the entire lineup - There was hardly a bad show to be seen!
There also was plenty of great style to be seen at this year's festival - That's where I come in, with thanks to the Shaky Knees crew for letting me shoot some of the sartorial scene on this coolness-filled weekend. Enjoy the shots below (part two coming this week) of the stylish festival attendees and re-live the glory days of Shaky 2014…here's to another year of incredible music with Shaky Knees 2015!
