Dropping the Needle + Idlewild South: Ultra Music Festival

So...confession: I love EDM. Love. While I do not celebrate this love affair/guilty pleasure enough, it holds a very dear place in my life; namely, the fuel behind every.single.workout. Most of my nights out. And the soundtrack to "in the zone" at work.

Right now, I'm particularly loving Major Lazer (helloo, Diplo), Swedish House Mafia, Yeasayer, etc. But I'm always a shameless fan of Kaskade, Benny Benassi...even Bob Sinclair (dear European memories). As my dearest friends know, the first words out of my mouth when I get a few drinks in are "I just need to dance." Take me to Noni's and let me loose, kids.

That said, a wild night in ATL doesn't hold a candle (glowstick?) to partying in MIA...especially for one of the US's largest electronic music fests - Ultra Music Festival. Given our recent cold snap and strange club options in Atlanta, I'm dying for a little sun and fun in SoBe. So now for a quick jet to Miami for Ultra with Molly Free of Dropping the Needle on Idlewild South - Enjoy her Ultra Spotify playlist below, the perfect soundtrack for all your dancing/workout pleasure.

this wednesday we are headed to miami baby. shake our tailfeathers to some non stop edm. for those of you who haven't been to an electronic festival, it is pretty much anything goes when it comes to style. the music is not the only unique part of these festivals. girls rock tutus, bra tops, boots with fur, things in their hair, neons everywhere.

for miami you're going to need essentials: a hat, sunglasses, and a bathingsuit. suits with fun tops are perfect because you can throw on a tutu//maxi//denim on the bottom. fun crop tops or bralettes in bright colors are great!

the shorter the shorts the better, acid wash is perfect for miami. a funky romper to throw over your suit when you're going to lunch or leaving the festival is great, especially because you can ball it up in your purse.jellies are making a comeback, perfect place to break em in. a headband for your hair because it will get tousled.

don't forget sunscreen! sunburns are never in style! the neutrogena wetskin i have found best for festivals.
